In May 23-25,four officers of our chapter attended IONS China 2009 hold in Changchun. All student chapters of OSA in China mainland gathered in the conference.
On 14th May 2009, our chapter was awarded a 2009 Activity Grant for the program named OSA Student Chapter Seminar in Southeast China.
On 23rd April, David N Payne from University of Southampton, gave us a talk on the development of optical fibers and photonics.
On 27th Dec. 2008, the new officers of OSA student chapter in SJTU were elected and the objectives in the new term were established.
On the first day of AOE, Oct. 31st 2008, the OSA president Dr.Rod C. Alferness and executive directorElizabeth A. Rogan came to our OSA student chapter booth.
On 1st Nov., the Members of CU OSA student chapter in Thailand visited our student chapter booth and shared the experience of working for the OSA student chapter.
On 1st Nov., Dr. Xiang Liu from Bell labs and Prof. Chris Xu from Cornell University visited our student chapter booth. They were impressed by our work and shared with us a lot of helpful experiences on research and study.
On Apr. 24th, 2008, the secretary-general of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Student Chapter of the OSA visited the Beijing Univ. Student Chapter of the OSA.
